FOUNDERS AND LEADERSHIP
Taylor Kuhn, PhD
Founder, Chief Clinical Officer
Dr. Taylor Kuhn is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist, research neuroscientist, serial entrepreneur, and lifelong internal martial arts practitioner. Combining neuropsychological assessment and multimodal brain MRI expertise, Dr. Kuhn’s research explores focused ultrasound neuromodulation as a next-generation neural therapeutic and drug delivery method for conditions including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, treatment-resistant depression, and anxiety disorders. His lab was the first to receive funding from the National Institute of Health for exploring focused ultrasound neuromodulation in Alzheimer’s disease. In 2025, his work validating focused ultrasound as a drug delivery device was selected as one of the top 40 winners of the XPrize Healthspan competition.
As a clinical and forensic expert specializing in the intersection of neuromedical illness and mental health treatment, Dr. Kuhn provides outpatient neurocognitive and psychodiagnostic assessment along with ongoing managed care. Dr. Kuhn also leads a multidisciplinary research lab at UCLA focused on precision neuromodulation, functional neuroanatomy, and digital neurodiagnostics. He served as the lead coordinator of both the Development and Aging arms of the Lifespan Human Connectome Project and is the founder of the ENIGMA-Neuromodulation Working Group, a global collaboration advancing AI-integrated brain stimulation research. His publications span not only neuromodulation but also the neuroscience of intelligence, creativity, neurodegeneration, and machine learning–enabled cognitive assessment.
In addition to his scientific and clinical work, Dr. Kuhn collaborates with internationally celebrated artists, including Refik Anadol, on projects that merge brain data, artificial intelligence, and immersive installation art. Their joint work was featured at the 2021 Venice Biennale and the 2022 Nvidia GTC Conference and forms the basis of new scientific and therapeutic explorations into the neural basis of creativity and emotion. Also, a lifelong student of mind–body integration, Dr. Kuhn has trained extensively in Tai Ji and Sin Tien Wu Ji Qi Gong under the late Grandmaster David Chin, a lineage holder in these arts as well as Tibetan Hop Gar. Dr. Kuhn continues to draw from these teachings in both his scientific and contemplative practice.
