The Latest Advancement in Neuromodulation
Transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS) being designed to harness trusted technology to precisely and noninvasively modulate neural circuits.

Translating Trusted Technology
We use low-intensity ultrasound waves similar to those in diagnostic imaging, which has a proven safety record for those diagnostic uses. Instead of imaging, we target and modulate neural circuits using a technique called transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS), which is rapidly being adopted by research clinicians and scientists worldwide.
Researchers have published numerous studies on tFUS, exploring its effects on chronic pain, dementia, epilepsy, depression, and anxiety, with minimal side effects. Our team is developing this technology into a mental health treatment, aiming to create the first FDA-cleared tFUS device, setting a new standard in neurotherapeutics.

Minimal side effects and discomfort
60%
Of people with treatment-resistant GAD experienced clinically significant reduction in anxiety (Mahdavi et al., 2023).
70%
70% of patients with depression experienced increased mood after ultrasound in a pilot study (Reznik, Sanguinetti, 2020).

Built for the Clinic
Research shows that tFUS can reach small targets deep inside the brain, producing significant neural and behavioral effects with minimal side effects. However, the skull can be a barrier to the ultrasound beam.
Our innovative acoustic planning software (pictured) is being designed to assist clinicians in individualizing treatments with pinpoint targeting accuracy. Through AI-enabled ultrasound field simulations, this software is being developed to personalize beam targeting and correct for skull aberrations.
Promising Results
In our ongoing investigational study using our device, anxiety was significantly reduced in 73% of anxious participants during the first session.
This large effect lasted for 48 hours and was promising. We are now conducting a trial with the renowned Acacia Mental Health clinic to determine whether multiple sessions extend this effect in time.
