Sanmai is a for-profit Delaware Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) that is bound to service for the public good. Its principal mission is to relieve mental suffering and increase flourishing without ethical compromise while delivering sustainable economic growth. 

As a PBC and a Triple Bottom Line company, its public benefit commitments include: 

• Ethical development and application of technologies, products, and services that enhance mental health and wellness and that respect the basic NeuroRights of its customers (for example, mental privacy, personal identity, and agency)

A public benefit corporation is a type of for-profit company that is certified to pursue a specific public benefit, such as promoting social welfare or advancing education. The corporation must operate in a way that benefits the public, in addition to generating profits. The company's directors and officers have a fiduciary duty to both the corporation and the public, balancing their financial interests with the public's interests. Public benefit corporations must provide transparency reports on their progress towards achieving their social purpose.
